NIHR Discusses its Training Programs Plan

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committees on Civil and Political Rights and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights held their joint meeting to follow-up and discuss some of the training programs conducted by the NIHR in implementation of its strategy and action plan for 2017 – 2018 in terms of achieving its role in the area of protection and fostering of various human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Both Committees discussed part of various training programs that are conducted by the NIHR in cooperation with Embassy of Netherlands, which target civil society institutions, youth societies, media workers and judges, and how to intensify such programs to achieve NIHR’s goals and aspirations.

It is worth mentioning that the NIHR has adopted a strategy and action plan based on five themes, i.e. NIHR engagement in human rights protection and respect efforts, reinforcement of NIHR’s efforts in the area of legislative review and development, inauguration of expanded national program for education on human rights, inauguration of a specialized program in the area of enhancing citizenship rights and supporting its values and fostering cooperation on national, regional and international levels.
